Springfield Youth Wrestling Club is one of the oldest wrestling
clubs in Southwest Missouri. We boast a long tradition of training
young athletes, but more than that, we are proud of our long history of
promoting family values. This is truly a family organization,
giving opportunities for parents to coach, sponsor, and participate in

About Our Coach,
Trever Collins
PERSONAL: Born Nov. 7, 1988, in Springfield, Mo.,
to Jeff and Tonya Collins, Trever has one sister, Brittnea and one
brother, Nick.
Youth: Coach Collins began his
wrestling career with the Springfield Youth Wrestling Club. (How
cool is that?)
HIGH SCHOOL: Coached by Jason Carter at Nixa High
School, Collins was a three-time Missouri State Champion (2005,
2006, 2007) and helped his team to a fourth-place finish his senior
year (2007). A member of the Eagle wrestling team, Collins earned
All-America honors on four occasions (2004, 2005, 2006, 2007) and
was named the Super 32 Champion in 2007. Collins earned four letters
in wrestling and two while running with the cross country team.
Academically, Collins was credited with a 4.0 grade-point average
his senior year.
Competing at the National High School Coaches Association Senior
Nationals in 2007, Collins finished among the top-10 at 215 pounds,
earning fourth place honors at the Junior Nationals in 2006.
Additionally, Collins received the Most Outstanding Wrestler Award
after taking first at the Brute/Adidas Championships at 189 pounds
in 2006. Collins ranked 11th in the nation prior to beginning school
at Missouri.
College: Coach Collins wrestled for the University
of Missouri in 2007-2008 before returning to Springfield to finish
college.
